Calatrava’s design for the new WTC transportation hub was approved

The public transportation hub, designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava for the new World Trade Center in New York, received the approbation of Portual Authority. The project went through some changes compared to 2004 initial version, in order to strengthen the resistance of the structure against a possible explosion: the result is less glass surfaces and more steel [el mundo].
