Develops design concepts and produces contract documents based on client needs.
Meets with clients to program the project requirements.
Takes accurate as-built measurements for developing floor plans and elevations.
Contributes to create design concepts and digital presentations with finish selections, furnishings, and fixtures.
Presents design concepts and takes detailed notes to address customer requests.
Creates project budgets and maintains up-to-date documentation of all activities.
Provides follow-up support with customers.
Develops and maintains productive and effective relationships with customers.
Interior Designer Qualifications / Skills:
Effective English verbal and written communication skills
Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and self- starter
Programming abilities to extract information and produce reports
Knowledge of building and accessible codes
Knowledge of industry construction costs and material costs
Ability to prepare furniture cost estimates
Creative eye for detail in preparation of design presentation materials
Regularly follows trends in Hotels, Architecture and Interior Design so that own work and ideas are of an 'International' caliber as well as sophistication level.
FF&E Specification Requirements
Knowledge of the Major Italian Manufacturers (Lighting, Carpets, Fabrics, Wallcovering, Fornitures) and their products, fabrication techniques, finish requirements and ability to deliver quality products on schedule and per budget.
Can interpret photos of 'like" FF&E and draw a project proposing a selection of italian products
Can locate and select items due to in depth knowledge of products and vendors.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in interior design/architecture/engineering or related field
Experience in house interior design, retail, hotel, restaurants
Experience managing a department of 4 or more design staff including budget estimates and project schedules
Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Revit and other design tools
