Début Award: la Triennale di Lisbona seleziona architetti emergenti

In occasione della quarta edizione della Triennale di Architettura di Lisbona che si svolge quest'anno dal 5 ottobre all'11 dicembre, viene istituito Début Award, un premio rivolto a giovani architetti e studi (con meno di 35 anni). L'obiettivo è riconoscere il lavoro dei giovani architetti emergenti. 

Il vincitore riceverà una somma di 5mila euro e sarà invitato a tenere una lezione durante le Triennale.

The Lisbon Architecture Triennale is delighted to announce the opening call for Lisbon Triennale Millennium bcp Début Award, framed in the context of its 4th edition - The Form of Form. 

Targeted at international emerging architects, the Début Award boosts the recognition of young professionals or recently established practices. This distinction awards outstanding work, critical ideas, and encourages their career with a monetary prize.

Until 31 May, any architect or office with an average age under 35 is eligible. A prize of 5 000 € will be awarded to the winner. Also, a shortlist of 10 architects or practices will receive honorary mentions.

In addition to applications, a list of candidates will be nominated by a panel of nominators. Every candidate, either nominated or applying, will have to submit the same materials for evaluation.

The winner will be selected by the Début Award jury: Tim Abrahams (UK), architecture critic and editor of Machine Books, Fernanda Bárbara (BR), architect; Margarita Jover (FR), architect and researcher; Tetsuo Kondo (JP), architect; Luís Santiago Baptista (PT), architect and architecture critic; André Tavares (PT), architecture critic and curator; Mimi Zeiger (US), architecture critic, editor, curator and co-president of LA Forum for Architecture and Urban Design

The winner will be announced during the opening week (5-9 October, 2016), and will be invited to give a lecture during the Lisbon Architecture Triennale's finissage.

ABOUT LISBON ARCHITECTURE TRIENNALE
Founded in 2007, the Lisbon Architecture Triennale is an open platform for debate, research and promotion of contemporary architecture. Its 4th edition takes place in 2016, establishing the project's maturity, reaffirming its principles of independence and plurality of visions.

ABOUT THE FORM OF FORM
The world is transformed through architecture. Under the title The Form of Form, with André Tavares and Diogo Seixas Lopes as chief curators, this edition wants to further the discussion around the practice of architecture, emphasizing sharp lines of thought in a social context in rapid transformation. The Form of Form comprises 67 days filled with 4 main exhibitions, 6 Satellites, 3 Awards, 1 Competition, 1 International Conference, 14 Associated Projects, and much more. This extraordinary set of events will highlight the diversity of Lisbon's urban landscape, inviting the public to explore unexpected places, discovering new paths in the city and its outskirts.
