[AC-CA] Architectural Competition Concours d'Architecture lancia il concorso internazionale [LONDON] Architecture & Design Studio, il cui obiettivo è quello di disegnare un nuovo studio di architettura e design contemporaneo nell'area di Shoreditch, a Londra. L'ufficio dovrà favorire il flusso delle idee e l'ispirazione dei giovani praticanti e dovrà avere un'architettura capace di riflettere le tendenze del design contemporaneo e di interpretare l'aspetto dello spazio di lavoro dei tempi contemporanei.
Uno studio di architettura e design è un ufficio dove architetti e designer dovranno avere la possibilità di sedersi insieme e dedicarsi alla creazione di ogni tipo di struttura e alla progettazione del paesaggio circostante. Si tratta di un ambiente che viene vissuto contemporaneamente da diverse persone e, pertanto, deve essere equipaggiato con tutti gli elementi necessari per favorire lo sviluppo delle idee senza che i membri dello studio si intralcino a vicenda.
Il lavoro dovrà individuare un equilibrio tra la luce e lo spazio per gli strumenti elettronici di stampa e la tecnologia computerizzata, che ormai costituisce una costante negli studi di architettura e design, in quanto capace di supportare la progettazione velocizzando i processi e aumentando il livello di precisione degli elaborati.
Le proposte dovranno, inoltre, tener conto del contesto urbano e dell'impatto che l'intervento potrebbe avere su di esso.
The aim of this International Competition is to design a new contemporary Architecture & Design Studio in Shoreditch area in London. The studio or working office should provide an inspirational environment for a young growing practice. The architecture of this new building should reflect contemporary design tendencies and suggest a vision for such a studio today. The proposal must not only attend to the specific function but also take into consideration the urban context and impact.
Architectural or Design studio is defined as an office with spaces set aside for architects or designers to work from and create designs for all types of structures and the surrounding landscape. A typical architecture / design firm will provide each architects, designer and engineer with some type of studio space, to inspire and which provides freedom from a number of distractions. However, there are also studios that are designed to allow several architects / designers to occupy the same space at the same time.
Any modern studio should be equipped with all the tools necessary to conceive and develop ideas for new projects. The work surfaces provided with appropriate balanced direct lighting and space for printed and electronic resources is one common element. The use of computer technology is a useful aid in the creative efforts of prototypes and models as it helps move the process further much quicker as such should be considered in any proposal.
ELIGIBILITY
Architects, Architecture Graduated, Engineers and Students. Interdisciplinary teams are also encouraged to enter the Competition.
Submissions can be the work of an individual or a group up to 4 members and there is no age limit.
REGISTRATION AND FEES
Participants must register on www.ac-ca.org no later than 17th March 2017.
Competition fees refer to the following calendar:
- Early Bird Registration: US$ 80 | from 20th December to 05th January 2017
- General Registration: US$ 100 | from 06th January to 02nd March 2017
- Late Registration: US$ 125 | from 03rd March to 17th March 2017.
SUBMISSION
Proposals must be submitted no later than 17th March 2017.
PRIZES
Winning participants will receive prizes totaling US$ 5,000 with the distribution as follows:
- 1st PRIZE: US$ 5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND US DOLLARS) and included in a special exhibition in London.
- 2nd PRIZE: Included in a special exhibition in London.
- 3rd PRIZE: Included in a special exhibition in London.
There will also be 7 honorable mentions and included in a special exhibition in London Directors Pick Anniversary Year Special Award: Included in a special exhibition in London.
1st Prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize and Directors Anniversary Year Special Award may be published in international magazines as well as on the [AC-CA]™ website.
