On 07/20/07, according to The Gulf Today newspaper, the Burj Dubai tower, designed by the firm SOM – Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, should have overcome the Taipei 101, that till then had been the tallest building in the world. The skyscraper already reached 510 meters, thus outclassing the 508-meter high Taipei [urbanity.es / elmundo.es].
