This design competition questions "how designers can promote and encourage new innovative and alternative opportunities to emerge in order for latrobe city to transition into a low carbon, prosperous, and vibrant future".

This is an ambitious project that will take place on an international stage while maintaining a local focus, "thinking globally and acting locally".

The Organiser of this Design Ideas Competition is RMIT University through its Office of Urban Transformations Research Laboratory (OUTR) at 124 La Trobe Street, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

How can we rethink, regenerate, rebrand, rework, reactivate cities dominated by singular economies for a vibrant and innovative future?

Early Bird Registration $75.00 (Before Monday 29 October, 2012)
Late Registration $90.00 (Tuesday 27 November, 2012)

The prizes for the three proposals selected by the judges are as follows:
- First place - AUD$15,000 cash;
- second place - AUD$3,500 cash;
- third place - AUD$2,500 cash.
