The University of California, Berkeley, College of Environmental Design and The Wiener Family Fund for Public Architecture and Landscape is sponsoring an international competition for the design of a 60 to 80-person wilderness base camp facility for overnight stays.
The competition project site is near the trailhead leading to the Palisade Glacier in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Central California.
The winning design and its construction will have an international impact as a prototype for facilities that may be constructed in other parts of the world.
