22-hectare site sits on Sydney Harbour at the western foreshore of the city's business district. Its change of use now presents a unique opportunity to create a new western edge to the city as well as stunning new foreshore parkland for the community.
A mix of recreational and working uses will ensure that this exceptional site will provide a new and significant open space area on the forshore for all to enjoy, drive the economic and cultural growth for Sydney's future and provide a showpiece of excellence in waterfront urban renewal.
To advance this, the NSW Government, which is responsible for the site, has launched this urban design competition to source ideas and concepts that will underpin the transformation of East Darling Harbour.
