Berlin: Peter Eisenman’s Holocaust Memorial affected by cracks and dampness

Cracks and water infiltrations are affecting some of the 2,711 concrete blocks forming the Berlin Holocaust Memorial, designed by New York-based architect Peter Eisenman and inaugurated in May 2005. The Foundation for the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, which is responsible for the monument, informed about troubles the company that furnished the material, so an inspection of the blocks is scheduled for February [el mundo / ELPAIS.es].
