The culture and the building tradition of Wales is expressed in a contemporary language by the Millennium Centre, whose construction started – after 18 years of stop-and-go – based on a Zaha Hadid’s design that soon fell through. The building was finally completed in 2004, as a feather in the cap for the renewed Cardiff Bay, along the Taff River. Seat of the Welsh National Opera, this huge public space dedicated to cultural performances was conceived by Capita Percy Thomas, a Cardiff-based firm: young architect Jonathan Adams carried out design and works direction [Clarín].
