Jobs for a foreigner Engineer
Hi, I am Indian Engineer with basic degree in Civil Engineering and Masters degree in Ocean Engineering. I have 4+ years of experience in various construction field working with reputed firms . Since the beginning of 2018 i have moved to Palermo with my family. Since then I have been searching on jobs in Italy. But in vain. Doesn't my foreign degrees have any value here? Please suggest me any help.
Hi Pearly, I think you should write to an engineers' forum, where you would for sure get more useful answers and above all maybe some tips from colleagues from your zone- although, as you've surely been told, Italy has a serious unemployement issue at the moment, and southern areas are suffering it far more than others.
How have you been searching? In general, Italy doesn’t much work with CV voluntary sending. I’d try to look for open positions in multinational companies’ sites.
But as I said, try to contact some of your colleagues, or the local professional engineers' register (https://ordine.ingpa.com/).
p.s.: out of curiosity: what’s ocean engineering? Never heard of.

Grazie mille.
I am sorry, but for further clarification, I would like to know that did you mean to contact any local professional engineers directly for work and again how can get registered as a professional engineer in Italy?
Ocean engineering deals with physical aspects of ocean like hydrodynamics and other physical properties and also coming to the engineering part it includes marine based constuction like harbours, outer sea terminals ,berths or wharfs.

No, not exactly. My suggestion is to subscribe to an engineers' forum to get tips from, hopefully, engineers from the same area, about what's the best research method THERE - it can be slightly different from, for instance, where I live (north eastern Italy). In the meantime, my other suggestion is to contact the engineers' register at the link above. It's a register but also a sort of association, there's one for architects also. They have local seats in every big city and you'll surely be able to find someone to have an orienteering meeting with. Good luck
