Hotel Liesma organizes an open international design ideas competition to find the best design solution for a music-themed upscale hotel in Jurmala, Latvia. The resort city, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, is well known for its musical heritage, and the hotel shall express elements related to music in its design concept.
It is a single-stage international competition open to any registered architecture practice, architecture license holder, or groups of architects and designers (or members of other related fields) under the supervision of an architecture license holder.
The project will be a full service 4-star hotel with a restaurant, bar, conference area, swimming pool and leisure area. The hotel shall have a parking adjacent to the territory, a children's playground, and a space for outside café / terrace for summer months.
The following awards and prizes will be awarded:
• One first place award, with the prize money of 10,000 €
• Two second place awards, with the prize money of 5,000 € each
• Three third place awards, with the prize money of 2,500 € each
Income tax and other taxes regarding the recipient of the award money are to be paid by the recipient to the respective authorities in the recipient's residing country.
